UPDATE (March 29) – Toronto FC winger Lorenzo Insigne will miss up to six weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered in last week's win over Atlanta United.
TFC head coach John Herdman on Friday confirmed the 32-year-old's extended period on the sidelines, leaving the club without their most effective player so far this season.
Insigne has 2g/0a in five appearances, helping the Reds jump out to a 3W-1L-1D record in 2024 after last season's Wooden Spoon finish.
Toronto host Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at BMO Field in Matchday 7 (7:30 pm ET | MLS Season Pass).

Toronto FC's superstar winger suffered a right hamstring injury during first-half stoppage time, forcing the Italian international to exit the BMO Field pitch and head to the locker room before the halftime whistle. Toronto would go on to take a 2-0 victory on the strength of goals from Tyrese Spicer (35') and Prince Owusu (71').
Insigne, whose two goals this season were back-to-back AT&T Goal of the Matchday winners, has struggled to remain healthy since joining Toronto in the summer of 2022. His debut was put on hold in his first season with the club due to a calf injury, while he missed nearly two months last season after a groin injury.
In 37 league matches, Insigne has 12g/7a.
