LA Galaxy's Sebastian Lletget leaves US national team camp due to injury

Sebastian Lletget - US national team - celebration

The current U.S. men’s national team roster shrank by one on Thursday, as LA Galaxy midfielder Sebastian Lletget left camp due to what the federation termed a “lingering” abdominal strain picked up on club duty.

It's another injury setback for Lletget, who suffered a serious foot injury during a World Cup qualifier in March of 2017 that ruled him out for most of 2017 and necessitated a painstaking rehabilitation process. He's scored three goals and one assist for the Galaxy in 23 appearances (16 starts) since his return to fitness this season.

Lletget will not be replaced on the USMNT squad, leaving coach Dave Sarachan and his staff with 24 players for their friendlies vs. Brazil at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Friday (7:30 pm ET | FS1, UniMás, UDN) and vs. Mexico in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday (8:30 pm ET | ESPN, UniMás, UDN).
