Hany Mukhtar sets his sights on 2023 after another historic year where he was named an the 2022 MLS MVP and MLS Golden Boot winner as well securing his second consecutive MLS Best XI honor. With 23 goals and 11 assists in 2022, Mukhtar is the first player to lead the league in consecutive seasons since 2015-'16. The MVP's 62 combined goals and assists from 2021-22 are the fifth most over a two-year span in MLS history. In 2021, Mukhtar earned MLS Best XI midfielder and finished second in MLS MVP voting. Mukhtar led MLS in combined goals and assists with 28 in the regular season and added three more goals in the playoffs. Mukhtar scored the fastest hat trick in MLS history with three goals in the span of six minutes on July 17 against Chicago Fire FC, was selected to the MLS Team of the Week seven times in 2021 and was selected as the MLS Player of the Week twice. Mukhtar was named The Tennessean Sportsperson of the Year in 2021. In his first season with Nashville SC, Mukhtar was the was the team-leader in overall goals scored alongside Daniel Rios (5) and assists (4) along with Randall Leal and Captain Dax McCarty.
