Career Summary

Charlotte FC announced the signing of American midfielder Brandt Bronico on Dec. 18, 2020. Bronico signed a contract extension with the Club on Aug. 25, 2022, that will see him with CLTFC through 2025, with a club option for 2026.

During the 2024 campaign, Bronico made 25 appearances, making 19, and added one goal and five assists. His start at Orlando City SC on Sept. 18 marked his 100th match with the Club across all competitions, making him the first player in CLTFC history to achieve the feat. In 2023, Bronico continued to be a staple in CLTFC’s lineup, appearing in 39 matches across all competitions, making 37 starts. Bronico scored once in the regular season against Nashville SC on May 20 to go along with four assists.

Bronico was a mainstay in CLTFC’s inaugural season, appearing in every match and started all but two. He scored his first goal for the club in a game-winning effort against reigning champions New York City FC on Aug. 17. Bronico also added four assists in the 2022 season.

Before the Club kicked off its inaugural season, Bronico, along with Christian Fuchs and Adam Armour, played with then-USL Championship side Charlotte Independence. Bronico appeared in 33 matches, netting one goal and notching three assists.

Prior to joining the club, Bronico spent four years with Chicago Fire FC after being selected with the 47th overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. The High Point, NC native made 66 appearances for the Fire and notched two goals and eight assists.

Bronico played collegiate soccer for the Charlotte 49ers from 2013-16, scoring 25 goals and adding 23 assists. He was named Conference USA Player of the Year in 2016 as a senior. At the youth level, Bronico played for NC Fusion and Carolina Dynamo.

2024 (Charlotte FC): MLS Regular Season – Appeared in 25 matches, making 19 starts, totaling 1,734 minutes. Recorded a goal and five assists in the 2024 campaign. Made his 100th appearance with CLTFC against Orlando City SC on Sept. 18. Leagues Cup – Started in both of the Club’s Group Stage matches, playing 180 total minutes. MLS Cup Playoffs – Appeared and started in all three of CLTFC’s matches against Orlando City SC.

2023 (Charlotte FC): MLS Regular Season – Appeared in 32 matches, making 30 starts, totaling 2,597 minutes. Added one goal and four assists. U.S. Open Cup – Started and played 90 minutes in the Club’s 1-0 victory over Orlando City SC. Leagues Cup – Appeared in all five of Charlotte’s Leagues Cup matches. Scored in CLTFC’s Group Stage victory over Necaxa. MLS Cup Playoffs – Started and played 90 minutes in the Club’s Wild Card match against New York Red Bulls, recording one assist.

2022 (Charlotte FC): MLS Regular Season – Appeared in all 34 matches in the Club’s inaugural season, making 32 starts and totaling a team-leading 2,815 minutes. Scored his only goal of 2022 against reigning champions New York City FC on Aug. 17. Notched four assists on the year. U.S. Open Cup – Appeared in all three of CLTFC’s matches.
