Career Summary

Stuver signed for Austin FC as free agent on December 28, 2020 and established himself as the team's starting goalkeeper during its inaugural season, a position he has held down ever since. Stuver was selected to the Major League Soccer All-Star roster in 2025, and led MLS in saves in both 2023 (130) and 2024 (143).

Stuver is the Club's all-time leader in appearances with nearly 200 across all competitions. On March 21, 2026, Stuver made his 119th consecutive league start for Austin, the second-longest streak of consecutive starts in MLS history.

In October 2022, Stuver made two (2) saves in a penalty shootout to help Austin defeat Real Salt Lake in the Club’s first-ever MLS Cup Playoffs match.

Stuver has been an exemplary community-engaged athlete throughout his time in Austin, and in 2022 became the first-ever MLS player to be named a nominee for the ESPN Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award at the ESPYs (before being nominated for the award again in 2023). Stuver has also been a multiple-time finalist for MLS Works Humanitarian of the Year for his community-based advocacy and fundraising across the Central Texas region. Stuver is actively involved with Current Initiatives’ The Laundry Project, an organization which holds events to provide free laundry services and materials to low-income families. Stuver has led dozens of Laundry Project since arriving in Central Texas, including one to provide relief for families in Uvalde, and organized multiple supply drives to collect donations.

Before joining the Verde & Black, Stuver played professionally with Columbus Crew and NYCFC. He played collegiate soccer at the Cleveland State University from 2009 to 2012.
