Real Salt Lake are spending the first leg of their preseason training outside San Diego, and the Claret & Cobalt are set to cross the border on Tuesday for a friendly against Liga MXās Club Tijuana.
Tuesdayās match will serve as a bit of preparation for RSLās CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series against Mexican side Tigres, which is set to kick off in Monterrey on February 24.
RSL head coach Jeff Cassar told the clubās Web site to expect the team to focus on their defensive responsibilities on Tuesday and that heād play two different lineups in each half, with a few exceptions.
āWhere we really want the group is not thinking about Tijuana, just thinking about us,ā Cassar said. āThinking about what we want to do defensively, where we want to win the balls, whatās our intensity like in those areas and coming out of it not getting hurt.ā
