Nick DeLeon scores against DC United for Toronto FC, doesn't celebrate

Returning to D.C. United for the first time since joining Toronto FC this offseason, Nick DeLeon got himself on the scoresheet.

DeLeon found space along the six-yard box to tap-in a pass from Richie Laryea in the 19th minute. Out of respect for his former side (and perhaps half a thought that the flag would raise for offside), DeLeon didn't celebrate.

It's the second time DeLeon has faced his former club, as earlier this season D.C. traveled north of the border to BMO Field. At that time, DeLeon didn't mince words about the importance of facing United.

“Grudge is a decent word for it," DeLeon said in May. "I would be lying if I would say this game isn't a little more important for me. A little bittersweet, but I definitely want to take it to them. Grudge is a good word to use. I can't lose this game, put it that way.”

DeLeon spent the first seven seasons of his career with D.C., making 180 appearances while quickly becoming a fan favorite.
