Jair Marrufo and two other PRO referees — Frank Anderson and Corey Rockwell — have been tapped to oversee the 2018 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup Final this coming Saturday. The match, taking place in Abu Dhabi, pits defending champions Real Madrid against a surprising Al Ain squad that upset River Plate on penalty kicks to get into the final.
Marrufo will take lead duties, with Anderson as Assistant Referee 1 and Rockwell as Assistant Referee 2. Dutch referee Danny Makkelie will round out the team in the VAR role. Additionally, PRO referee Mark Geiger will serve as one of three Assistant VARs for the match.
