Lee Nguyen got the New England Revolution off to an early start last Saturday against Columbus Crew SC, and for his efforts he has earned AT&T MLS Goal of the Week honors.
The playmaker collected a ball in the box, chested it down, and sliced it into the top corner of the goal off a volley. The 3rd-minute goal put the Revolution up as they would eventually go on to win the game 3-1.
Nguyen defeated Colorado Rapids striker Kevin Doyle and New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard in earlier rounds, before defeating FC Dallas' Maximiliano Urruti in the finals. The win was Nguyen's first this season.
