Lee Nguyen is staying put in New England, and he made the news official in right front of the eyes of watching Revolution fans.

The star playmaker signed a new contract with the Revolution on Friday live during a Facebook Q&A session.

“It feels great. This has been my home for the past four years and to continue to call it home is a great feeling,” he said on the live stream. “To be able to start my career off here and now continue it, I’m happy to be with the Revs and also my taste of the national team and continue that, but it all started here.”

Nguyen, 29, has logged 10,860 minutes in 129 appearances – including 124 starts – since joining the Revolution in 2012. He has 34 goals and 24 assists all-time with New England.

“Lee is an important member of this club and we’re pleased we were able to reach a new agreement with him,” Revolution general manager Michael Burns said in a statement released by the club. “He is a player who has the ability to make players around him better and we’ve all seen his game develop incrementally since he joined us in 2012. We look forward to his continued contributions on the field and have no doubt he will assume an even larger leadership role for New England both on and off the field.”

Nguyen has nine caps with the US men’s national team, including a pair of starts in friendlies versus Iceland and Canada in January 2016.
