Your time social distancing might be filled with working out, reading books and watching movies or TV shows. Or, if you’re Inter Miami CF midfielder Lee Nguyen, it’s meant picking up a new hobby.
Nguyen, 33, took to Instagram to share how he’s honing his latte-making skills during the COVID-19 induced suspension to Major League Soccer.
“I hope everyone is staying home and safe and getting time to spend with loved ones,” Nguyen wrote. “I’ve picked up a little hobby and just wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to.”
Nguyen joined Miami this past offseason via the Expansion Draft after he spent two seasons with LAFC. His most memorable stretch in MLS took place with the New England Revolution from 2012-17, when he recorded an MVP-candidate season for their run to MLS Cup 2014 that included 11 goals and 15 assists.
During his nine seasons in MLS, Nguyen has 54 goals and 58 assists through 240 games. The midfielder has also played overseas for PSV and Randers, plus in Vietnam before returning stateside. He’s also earned nine caps for the US men’s national team.
For all those soccer accomplishments, maybe Nguyen can now add latte art specialist to the list.
